James S. Segarra, CPA, Managing Partner of Tronconi Segarra & Associates LLP certified public accounting/business consulting firm, announced today that his Firm of 113 associates has merged with Scott A. Cain, CPA, and six associates from his previous firm, Wittlin, Cain, & Dry, LLP. With this merger, Tronconi Segarra & Associates continues to grow as one of the largest independent CPA firms in the Western New York region; and the Firm will now serve clients from two offices – the Tronconi Segarra & Associates’ Williamsville headquarters at 8321 Main Street, and the Firm’s Lockport office in the Ulrich City Centre at 175 Walnut Street where Cain and his associates (who have served clients for the past 12 years) will replace the Wittlin, Cain, & Dry sign with a Tronconi Segarra & Associates sign.
Mr. Segarra expressed his excitement about the merger, saying, “We have wanted to re-enter the Niagara County market for the past several years, and we patiently waited for the right opportunity to develop. For us, the right opportunity is one that is a win-win for both of us, and where our combined clients will have access to a wider range of services delivered by enthusiastic professionals with diverse expertise to serve them. Our focus remains on how we can best serve our clients, from those that are very large to those that are small,” said Mr. Segarra. “We will continue to serve clients of all sizes. Cain is a 1986 graduate of the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Upon graduation, he began his career in public accounting and earned his New York State CPA license in 1990. In addition to providing traditional accounting, auditing and tax services to clients, Cain has developed specialties in serving Canadian-owned companies doing business in the U.S., and assisting clients with merger and acquisition activities. Cain currently serves on the Revolving Loan Fund Committee of the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency and is Vice Chairman of the Greater Lockport Development Corporation. He is a resident of Lockport.
The addition of Cain to the Tronconi Segarra & Associates partner group will result in the firm having 15 partners. “I have known some of the Tronconi Segarra & Associates partners for several years, and I’m excited about becoming their partner,” said Cain. “This merger will help us serve our clients in new and better ways, broadening the scope of services we can offer them and giving them more options than we previously could.” Continued Cain, “I’m glad that my new partners are on board with keeping our Ulrich City Center office location at in Lockport.
